Dear 4th Grader,

Hello!  My name is Mrs. Truempy, and I’d like to welcome you to Holland Brook School.  Although I’m sure your summer vacation plans have been terrific, I imagine that you are looking forward to learning more about your upcoming school year.

I have been teaching in Readington Township since 2005. I am thrilled to be your teacher and I am looking forward to helping you make the transition to your new school, grade, and class. You will be meeting so many new friends and exploring many different topics with them!

During the year, I will be teaching you more about Math and Science. You will solve more complicated math problems with your partners and experiment with energy, organisms, and Earth materials. You will learn more about the world around you, including right here in our own state! One of my goals is to make your fourth grade learning experience both fun and exciting in addition to you having some time to explore your own interests.

In order to be as prepared and ready as possible for this school year, please remember to bring all of your school supplies to class. If you have any questions about what that entails, the supply list link is on the HBS webpage!

I hope that you’re enjoying your last days of summer. In early August, my family will spend some time together soaking up the sun in Maryland. At the end of August, my daughter Eliza will return as a college junior to the University of Connecticut. If you’re a basketball fan, you may have heard of the fabulous UConn Huskies!! I love to watch all of the games with my husband. I can't wait to hear all about your summer adventures when I see you in the classroom.

I am very excited to start the new school year with you in our class community! Fourth grade is going to be so much fun and I can’t wait to meet you and your classmates. Let’s have an amazing year together!

Looking forward to meeting you soon,

Mrs. Truempy
